What has inspired you lately? A family member, a friend, a book, a teacher, a movie, a song, a newspaper article, a conversation?
One of my favorite inspiration quotes is a cheesy one.
“If you can believe, you can achieve.”
It’s short, sweet, and to-the-point. I believe that it’s very important to have some sort of inspiration quote or motto (not like YOLO though… It’s a good one, but people interpret it in a not-so-swell way). Your motto will act as your own personal life coach. Whenever you’re feeling down, just remind yourself of your inspiration quote.
Someone who has inspired me a great deal is Colonel Chris Hadfield. I had the pleasure of meeting him before. You may recognize him from this video:
He’s someone that I (literally) looked up to. I’ve always wanted to go to space (although after watching Gravity starring Sandy B…), and he’s done it. Not only has he done it, he posted a ton of videos of what it’s like in the International Space Station. He closed the lines between earth-dwellers and astronauts.
Poems also hold a lot of inspiration. One of my favorites is Look Well to This Day by anonymous:
Look well to this day,
For it and it alone is life.
In its brief course
Lie all the essence of your existence:
The Glory of Growth
The Satisfaction of Achievement
The Splendor of Beauty
For yesterday is but a dream,
And tomorrow is but a vision.
But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness,
And every tomorrow a vision of hope.
